10,019 more COVID-19 cases in PH — DOH
MANILA, Philippines — The country’s health department reported on Thursday additional 10,019 COVID-19 cases, which brought the count of active cases to 115,328.
According to the Department of Health (DOH), there are now 2,632,881 total detected cases of the disease in the country since the pandemic began. From this number, 4.4 percent remain active cases.
The DOH also logged 7,425 additional recoveries, raising the number of patients who have survived COVID-19 to 2,478,616, which represents 94.1 of the tally. There were also 109 more deaths, bringing the death toll to 39,937, or 1.48 of the total confirmed cases.
“The DOH will be reporting additional deaths tomorrow in a separate advisory, to reflect numbers not included in the previous case bulletins due technical issues encountered with COVIDKaya,” the agency said.
Some 18.1 percent of 56,418 individuals who were tested on Tuesday were found positive for coronavirus.
The DOH also removed 55 duplicates, including 35 recoveries, from the total case count, while 56 cases earlier tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation.
