LOOK: Opposition stalwarts Diokno, Hontiveros, other LP execs visit Robredo

MANILA, Philippines — Key opposition figures and stalwarts including senatorial candidates Chel Diokno and Senator Risa Hontiveros along with other Liberal Party (LP) officials met with Vice President Leni Robredo after she announced her bid for the presidency on Thursday.

Aside from the two personalities, photos sent out by Chel Diokno’s campaign team showed Senator Franklin Drilon and former senator Bam Aquino during the meeting with Robredo.

Robredo earlier ended months-long speculations about her political plans, announcing that she is ready to fight it out in the upcoming 2022 polls as a presidential candidate, to end the people’s sufferings.

As of now, there is no confirmation as to whether who would be included in Robredo’s ticket for the upcoming elections, but Diokno, Hontiveros, and Aquino were all nominated by the Liberal Party for its own slate.

There are also rumors that Senator Francis Pangilinan would be Robredo’s running mate, forgoing earlier plans to seek reelection.
