LAOAG CITY––Ferdinand Alexander “Sandro” Marcos, the eldest son of presidential aspirant Bongbong Marcos, filed Thursday his certificate of candidacy to formalize his bid for representative of the first district of Ilocos Norte.

Sandro, 27, will face incumbent first district congresswoman Ria Fariñas who will reportedly seek reelection.

Bongbong accompanied Sandro when the latter filed his COC at the local office of the Commission on Elections.

Last month, Sandro announced his candidacy during a kick-off rally in Sarrat town, the birthplace of his grandfather, the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos.

Sandro is a cousin of incumbent Ilocos Norte Gov. Matthew Marcos Manotoc, who is also seeking reelection.
