Suspected drug pusher busted in Batangas

LUCENA CITY––Police arrested Wednesday a rookie in the illegal drug trade in Santo Tomas City in Batangas province.

Santo Tomas police said in a report that Marfin Gonzales, 43, a resident of the locality, was collared around 1:20 a.m. after selling a pack of shabu (crystal meth) to an undercover police officer in Barangay San Antonio.

Authorities seized shabu in a plastic sachet and a motorcycle believed to have been used by the suspect in his illegal drug trade.

The report did not specify the volume and street value of the confiscated illegal drug.

The suspect was detained at the local police jail. He faces charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
