SAN ANTONIO, Zambales––A son of Gov. Hermogenes Ebdane Jr. filed Tuesday, Oct. 5, his certificate of candidacy for mayor in Botolan town for the 2022 elections.

Jun Omar Ebdane, who is running under the local party Sulong Zambales, was accompanied by his father, who is reportedly seeking reelection.

The younger Ebdane served as administrator of the province while his older brother, Jun Rundstedt, is the mayor of the capital town of Iba.

Jun Omar said he would continue the projects of outgoing Botolan Mayor Doris “Bing” Maniquiz, who also filed her COC for the representative of the second district of Zambales under the same party.

In 2012, Jun Omar briefly served as a congressman in the second district when he won the special elections after Rep. Antonio Diaz died in August 2011.

Jun Omar then ran for reelection in 2013 but failed in his bid to seek another term.
