7 arrested, P5.6M worth of crystal meth seized in 2 drug stings in Manila
MANILA, Philippines — Anti-narcotics operatives arrested seven suspects in two buy-bust operations on Monday and Tuesday in Manila and seized P5.6 million worth of crystal meth, locally known as shabu.
The operation on Monday was conducted in Barangay 648 at 8:30 p.m., according to the Drug Enforcement Unit of the Manila Police District (MPD).
Police officer arrested Nasfira Abdulla in that operation and seized from him 735 grams of shabu worth around P4.9 million.
The operation on Tuesday was conducted in Tondo at 4:20 a.m., leading to the arrested of six people still to be identified. Officers seized 100 grams of shabu worth around P680,000.
All seven suspects were presented to Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso and Brig. Gen. Leo Francisco, MPD chief.
“Despite all the challenges that we are facing, that our people are facing, life must go on. We must keep our communities drug-free,” Moreno said.
