LEGAZPI CITY — The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) on Tuesday announced the Bicol International Airport (BIA) in Daraga town in Albay province would be serving its first domestic commercial flights on Friday, October 8.
The CAAP, in an advisory, said two Philippine Airlines flights and two Cebu Pacific flights would be the first ones to use the airport as they ply the Manila-Legazpi-Manila route.
CAAP also said domestic daylight flights would be operational starting Friday while domestic night flights would start in November.
On Thursday, October 7, the BIA is set to be formally inaugurated with President Duterte in attendance.
Passengers with flights to Manila or Bicol on October 8 and onwards are requested to check-in at the BIA terminal, the CAAP advisory said.
The advisory said a public utility vehicle (shuttle service) would be available to transport arriving and departing passengers who are without transportation service from the airport terminal to the main highway near the Shell gas station.
