CITY OF SAN FERNANDO—Dr. Anna York Bondoc, former representative of Pampanga province’s fourth district, is making a bid to return to Congress.

She confirmed her comeback when she filed her certificate of candidacy (COC) at the office of the Commission on Elections here on Tuesday (Oct. 5).

She is running under Nacionalista, the political party of her late father Rep. Emigdio Bondoc and late granduncle Sen. Gil Puyat.

Anna served three terms in Congress until 2013. Since the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, she has been giving free online medical advice and spoke on health issues.

Her brother, Deputy Speaker Rep. Juan Pablo Bondoc, is completing his third and final term in June 2022.

Also on Tuesday, Pampanga Provincial Board Member Mylyn Pineda-Cayabyab sought reelection, quelling rumors she was eyeing the vice gubernatorial post held by her mother Lilia Pineda.

Cayabyab filed her COC with four other reelectionists to the legislative council.

Five millennials also filed their COC: Mabalacat City Councilor Win-win Garbo, Guagua Vice Mayor Sajid Eusoof, Bacolor Councilor Lucky Labung and Rep. Aurelio Gonzales’s chief of staff Mica Gonzales.

They are running under the local party Kambilan.
