MANILA, Philippines —The Philippines’ COVID-19 vaccine supply is expected to reach up to 160 million by the end of 2021, Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr., the country’s vaccine manager, said Monday.
To date, the country has received 77.4 million COVID-19 vaccine doses of various brands.
“In terms of our deliveries, our target for the Q4 [fourth quarter] is to receive 100 million vaccines by the end of October, and also by end of by December, we will have 140 to 160 million vaccines,” Galvez said in Filipino in a taped briefing with President Rodrigo Duterte that aired late Monday night.
Galvez said the government was planning to administer at least 100 million doses by year-end.
More than 45 million COVID-19 vaccine doses have so far been administered with 21 million persons already fully vaccinated against the respiratory disease.
