MANILA, Philippines – Three persons died from the rain caused by the tail-end of a cold front in the country, the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council said Tuesday.
In its latest bulletin, the NDRRMC said two had drowned and one was electrocuted.
The victim of electrocution was identified only as an eight-year-old resident of Bauang, La Union while the two victims of drowning were reported in Rodriguez, Rizal and Brooke’s Point, Palawan, the report said.
Landslide incidents were reported in Barangay (village) Marambong in Pandan, Barangay Kanlangca in Viga and Barangay San Miguel, Panganiban in Catanduanes Monday.
Seventy families were affected in Barangay San Manuel, it said.
Floods were also reported in the villages of Sinimbahanan, San Andres and Bokbok Sta Rosa and Buenavista, in Viga, Catanduanes.
Parts of the country experienced light to moderate rains due to a tail-end of a cold front, or thick clouds formed from the replacement of cold air mass with warmer air mass.
