MANILA, Philippines — Civic leader Samira Gutoc filed her certificate of candidacy (COC) for senator on Sunday.
At 5:15 p.m. Gutoc formalized her senatorial bid at the Harbor Garden Tent of the Sofitel Hotel in Pasay City.
Gutoc ran in the 2019 senatorial elections but failed to secure a slot in the so-called “Magic 12,” placing 25th with over 4.3 million votes.
Despite running under the Liberal Party’s Otso Diretso in 2019, Gutoc joined the Aksyon Demokratiko party on August 13. Aksyon Demokratiko is also the party of Manila Mayor Isko Moreno who is running for president in the 2022 polls.
