Foreigner shot dead in Lipa City

LUCENA CITY – A Bangladesh national was shot and killed by a lone unmen in Lipa City, Batangas Saturday night.

The Lipa City police identified the victim as Shajad Miah, 43 and resident of Valenzuela City.

Initial investigation showed that Miah was standing at the roadside in Barangay 5 at around 7:45 a.m. when two motorcycle-riding men pulled over beside the foreigner.

The back-rider repeatedly shot Miah with a .45 caliber pistol. The victim, however, still managed to run away.

The assailants gave chase and finished off  Miah, who authorities said was a businessman.

Further investigation and pursuit operations were ongoing as of posting time.
