Robredo transfers voter registration to CamSur

The first thing that Vice President Leni Robredo would do, if she was made head of the country’s COVID-19 response, is to look at available funds and make a list of things most needed right now.

Vice President Leni Robredo has transferred her voter registration from Naga City to the municipality of Magarao in Camarines Sur, her spokesperson confirmed on Friday.

But Barry Gutierrez, spokesperson for the Office of the Vice President, said the transfer of voter registration did not mean she had already decided to run for Camarines Sur governor.

Gutierrez clarified that Robredo has yet to make her decision regarding the 2022 elections, even after 1Sambayan endorsed her as their presidential bet.

“She’s been very clear that insofar as the possibility of a gubernatorial run is concerned, that has to wait for a decision [if she should run for president],” Gutierrez said.

Gutierrez said Robredo transfered her voter registration upon “the advice of her lawyers who wanted consistency” in her present residence.

He said the transfer required a quick trip to Robredo’s home province on Thursday, but she was already back in Manila.
