MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte has signed into law a bill extending the deadline for voter registration for the 2022 elections for another 30 days.
Under Republic Act No. 11591, which Duterte signed on Sept. 30, the last day of the voter registration period “shall be 30 days after the effectivity of this Act.”
The Commission on Election (Comelec) earlier extended the voter registration period until Oct. 31.

The voter registration period was supposed to expire on Sept. 30.
Malacañang has yet to clarify the exact date of the last day of voter registration.
