Over 68,000 residents in Zambales now fully vaccinated vs COVID-19

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — At least 148,567 residents, or 36 percent of this province’s eligible population, had been vaccinated against COVID-19 as of Wednesday, Sept. 29.

The latest data from the provincial health office showed that 46 percent of the vaccinated individuals or 68,201 residents were fully vaccinated.

The remaining 54 percent or 80,366 residents, on the other hand, had already received the first dose of the vaccine and were still waiting to get their full dose.

Recipients of the vaccines are residents under the A1-A5 categories or health workers, senior citizens, persons with comorbidities essential workers and indigents.

The province has been administering Sinovac, Astrazeneca, Moderna, Sinopharm and the single-dose Janssen vaccine of Johnson & Johnson.

To achieve herd immunity from the viral disease, the province needs to inoculate 413,000 or 70 percent of its 590,800-population.
