OLONGAPO CITY—At least 2,690 people in Central Luzon were apprehended by authorities for violating health and safety protocols set by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases in the past two days, authorities said Monday, Sept. 27.
In a statement, Brig. Gen. Valeriano de Leon, director of Police Regional Office 3, said most of the accosted violators were caught for improper wearing or not wearing of face masks in public places from Sept. 25-26.
Others were apprehended for mass gatherings and failure to observe physical distancing, De Leon added.
“Time and again, I call on the public to always observe the minimum health standards to prevent the spread of COVID-19 as the epidemic risk in Central Luzon is still categorized as moderate and the number of cases continues to rise,” De Leon said. INQ
