MANILA, Philippines — The low-pressure area (LPA) detected 230 kilometers east of Davao City has dissolved on Saturday, but cloudy skies and rain are still expected in many parts of Mindanao due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), the state weather bureau said.
“Yung low pressure area na nakita natin kaninang umaga ay tuluyan na ngang natunaw o nag-dissipate na,” weather specialist Raymond Ordinario said.
(The low-pressure area we detected this morning has already dissipated.)
Even without the LPA, the Zamboanga Peninsula; Bangsamoro Autonomous Region; Northern Mindanao; and South Cotabato, Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, and General Santos City (Soccsksargen) will experience cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the ITCZ.
However, Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have generally fair weather conditions, but there are still chances of rain due to isolated thunderstorms.
Pagasa said no gale warnings were raised in any of the country’s seaboards.
