MANILA, Philippines — The government has so far issued over 138,000 digital COVID-19 vaccination certificates since the launch of VaxCertPH, the country’s portal for the issuance of digital COVID-19 vaccination certificates, an official of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) said Saturday.

According to DICT Undersecretary Emmanuel Rey Caintic, the figure is out of the 225,000 requests they have received for the issuance of digital vaccination certificates.

“So far, we have already issued 138,000 na VaxCert out of 225,000 requests. Nationwide statistics po ito dahil kahit na nagsoft launch na tayo sa NCR, Baguio at prioritized natin ang OFWs (overseas Filipino workers) at international travelers, bukas naman talaga siya,” he said at the Laging Handa public briefing.

(So far, we have already issued 138,000 VaxCerts out of 225,000 requests. This is nationwide statistics because even if the soft launch was for NCR and Baguio and we prioritized OFWs and international travelers, it is really open to others.)

“Kung may data na kailangan, inuuna namin ang OFWs at international travelers. Halos nationwide naman pero limited release lang talaga, soft launch para hindi dagsain,” he added.

(If data is needed, we prioritize OFWs and international travelers. It is available nationwide but on a limited release on a soft launch.)

VaxCertPH had its soft launch in Metro Manila and Baguio City earlier this month. OFWs and those who will travel abroad were given priority in the initial phase of the portal’s operation.

Caintic said VaxCertPH recently also had its pilot rollout in Central Luzon, Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon), Metro Cebu and Davao Region. He said data rectification booths were set up in these areas.
