Bed capacity of 2 Olongapo hospitals back to safe level

OLONGAPO CITY—Two of the four hospitals treating COVID-19 patients in this city are back to a safe level after their bed occupancy rate dropped below 60 percent.

Data from the Department of Health on Thursday, Sept. 23, showed that three of the four COVID-19 beds of the Zambales Medical Mission Group Coop Hospital are already vacant.

Meanwhile, three of the six COVID-19 beds of the Mother and Child Hospital are also available on Thursday.

Four isolation beds of the two hospitals are also vacant, the same DOH data showed.

The other two hospitals-the James L. Gordon Memorial Hospital and the St. Jude Medical Center- are either fully occupied or nearing full capacity.

In general, Olongapo City has an 81.3-percent occupancy rate, and all of its intensive care unit beds were occupied.

As of Wednesday, the city recorded 49 new COVID-19 cases, which brought to 761 its active infections.
