On September 16, Metro Manila shifted to general community quarantine or GCQ Alert Level 4 to prevent COVID-19 transmission while opening the economy.
A GCQ Alert Level 4 includes the imposition of granular lockdowns that will restrict affected individuals from going out of their residence for at least 14 days.
Individuals permitted to enter and exit granular lockdown areas are only health workers, uniformed personnel enforcing the restrictions, returning or outbound overseas Filipino workers, and those with emergencies.
