SAN ANTONIO, Zambales—The municipal health office in Subic town has asked all tricycle drivers and operators to avail of the vaccine against COVID-19 as the local government continues its mass vaccination for essential workers.
On Tuesday, the Subic government started allowing walk-in recipients of the vaccine while it targets to immediately achieve herd immunity.
So far, all eligible residents belonging to the A1 to A5 categories (healthcare workers, senior citizens, those with comorbidities, essential workers and indigent residents) are being accommodated at the Subic Municipal Gymnasium, the town’s main vaccine site.
In the entire province, at least 136,263 or 32.5 percent of the target eligible population had already been vaccinated against COVID-19 as of Tuesday, September 21.
Data from the provincial health office showed that 62,966 of them were fully vaccinated while 72,297 already received the first dose of the vaccine.
The province has been administering Astrazeneca, Sinovac, Moderna, Sinopharm and Janssen vaccines.
It needs to inoculate 413,000 of its 590,800-population to achieve herd immunity.
