COVID rampage: 40 dead in Pampanga in just 2 days
MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga—At least 40 people died of COVID-19 in Pampanga province in just two days as the number of cases continued to rise, the provincial government said on Tuesday (Sept. 21).
From 1,999 on Sept. 19, the province’s COVID death toll spiked to 2,039 on Sept. 21. There was no update on Sept. 20.
The COVID deaths were listed in this city (1), Magalang town (1), Floridablanca town (5), Guagua (2), Lubao (3), Porac (3), Sasmuan (1), Arayat (3), Mexico (3), City of San Fernando (7), Sta. Ana (5), Apalit (1), Candaba (2), Macabebe (2), and San Simon (1).
The province recorded 343 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, bringing its active cases to 5,901.
Pampanga has recorded a total of 40,421 cases since the pandemic began in 2020. Of these, 32,481 have recovered while 2,039 have died.

It registered a total of 11,398 cases since 2020 of which 9,450 had recovered while 455 died.
