Completion of PH Postal Corp. modernization seen in November 2021

MANILA, Philippines — The modernization and digitalization of the services of the Philippine Postal Corp. (PHLPost) is expected to be completed by November this year, Zamboanga City 2nd District Rep. Manuel Jose Dalipe said Wednesday.

Dalipe, who is sponsoring the proposed 2022 budget of the PHLPost, said the modernization entails digitalization and computerization of the postal agency’s operations to enhance its services.

“After the completion of its digitalization and computerization as expected, ang outcome nito ay bibilis na ang serbisyo,” Dalipe said.

“Rest assured within the year, matatapos yung computerization, digitalization ng PHLPost and by November, expected completed na yung modernization, digitalization program ng PHLPost. So the month we are looking at is November,” he added.

According to Dalipe, a total of P300 million has been allotted since 2018 for the modernization of PHLPost.

Since the program is expected to be completed this year, funding for the modernization project is no longer included in the 2022 national budget.
