Weather 'gradually improving' in Southern Luzon; fair weather likely in NCR

MANILA, Philippines — Climate condition in Southern Luzon, save for Palawan, was “gradually improving” as chances were high for fair weather in Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon on Tuesday, according to the state weather service’s latest forecast.

This prediction of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) comes even as the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) was still expected to prevail over Palawan, the Visayas, and the Zamboanga Peninsula where overcast skies and rain remain possible.

“Maliban sa Palawan area na inaasahan pa ring maulap na may mga pagulan, gradually improving na po ang weather condition naman sa Southern Luzon area,” Pagasa senior weather specialist Chris Perez said Monday.

(With the exception of the Palawan area which is still expected to be cloudy with rains, the weather condition in the Southern Luzon area is gradually improving.)

Pagasa said Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon may experience a sunnier weather condition despite prospects of isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.

The rest of Mindanao, it added, was anticipated to experience hotter and more humid weather condiction although localized thunderstorms may bring isolated rain showers in some of its areas around Tuesday afternoon and evening.

Meanwhile, below was Pagasa’s forecast temperature range in key cities/areas for Tuesday:

No gale warning has been raised across the country’s seaboards but Pagasa’s Perez warned of offshore thunderstorm activity in the western seaboard of Southern Luzon, and the Western and Central seaboards of Visayas.
