Public market in Ilagan City under lockdown due to COVID-19 infection
CITY OF ILAGAN, Isabela–The city government has placed the New Ilagan Public Market under lockdown until Wednesday (Sept. 22) to give way to disinfection after some of its workers contracted COVID-19, an official said.
Mayor Josemarie Diaz said the lockdown began at midnight of Sunday and was seen to help contain the virus spread in the area.
Some of the fish vendors had to temporarily relocate along the roadside of Barangay Baligatan to continue earning despite the lockdown.
Fish vendor Elicar Palermo, 32, said they would continue selling outside the market while the lockdown is ongoing. INQ
