Palace: 18.5 million people now fully vaccinated vs COVID-19 in PH
MANILA, Philippines — There are now more than 18.5 million persons fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in the Philippines, Malacañang said Monday.
In a press briefing, presidential spokesperson Harry Roque said 18,560,409 individuals have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as of September 19, 2021.
Roque said more than 41.4 million vaccine doses have been administered, of which 22,853,606 were given as the first dose.
In Metro Manila alone, Roque said 6,488,814 persons have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 while 8,257,789 have been given the first dose.
The Philippines’ goal is to vaccinate 70 percent of its population by the end of 2021.
By October, vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. said the COVID-19 vaccination program may open to the general population including children with comorbidities.
