Most of PH to have cloudy and rainy Monday – Pagasa

MANILA, Philippines — A low-pressure area (LPA) spotted near Romblon will continue to bring rain over Metro Manila and Southern Luzon on Monday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

The LPA was last spotted by Pagasa 45 kilometers north of Romblon, Romblon.

Central Luzon, meanwhile, is expected to have “gradual improvement” in weather, according to Pagasa senior weather specialist Chris Perez.

“Subalit dito sa Metro Manila at Southern Luzon area, maulap pa rin may mga kalat kalat na pagulan, pagkidlat at pagkulog,” Perez said.

(Metro Manila and the Southern Luzon area will be cloudy with scattered rain, thunderstorms, and lightning.)

The same weather condition will prevail over the entire Visayas as well as the Caraga region, Davao Region, Northern Mindanao, and Zamboanga Provinces in Mindanao.

Meanwhile, hot and humid weather is expected to prevail over the rest of Mindanao despite the forecast of partly cloudy to cloudy skies. Rain should be expected in the afternoon until the evening, said Pagasa.

The forecast temperature range in key cities/areas according to Pagasa:

Metro Manila: 24 to 30 degrees Celsius

Baguio City: 16 to 25 degrees Celsius

Laoag City:  25 to 32 degrees Celsius

Tuguegarao: 24 to 33 degrees Celsius

Legazpi City: 25 to 30 degrees Celsius

Puerto Princesa City: 24 to 31 degrees Celsius

Tagaytay: 21 to 29 degrees Celsius

Kalayaan Islands: 25 to 31 degrees Celsius

Iloilo City: 25 to 30 degrees Celsius

Cebu: 24 to 30 degrees Celsius

Tacloban City: 25 to 31 degrees Celsius

Cagayan De Oro City: 24 to 31 degrees Celsius

Zamboanga City: 24 to 31 degrees Celsius

Davao City: 24 to 33 degrees Celsius

No gale warning is raised, but Perez warned of offshore thunderstorm activity in the western seaboard of Southern Luzon, in the seaboards of the Visayas and the western seaboard of Western Visayas area.
