Above 34% of Pampanga’s capital city fully inoculated vs COVID-19

MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga – Some 92,867 individuals or 34.3 percent of the target population in San Fernando City have been fully inoculated against COVID-19, the city’s epidemiology and surveillance unit disclosed on Saturday.

The city government said some 132,092 or 54.6 percent of the 242,102 eligible residents have also received their first doses of the vaccines as of September 16.

The target individuals for inoculation comprise about 68.3 percent of the capital city’s population of 354,666 based on the 2020 census.

The city government said 1,243 indigent residents were among those who received the first doses of the anti-COVID-19 vaccines.

On Friday, Vice President Leni Robredo brought 162 personnel to help inoculate some 1,647 residents at the Laus Convention Center in the capital city under her “vaccine express” campaign.

The vaccines were provided by the city government while the manpower was provided by the Vice President.

Her team is set to return to San Fernando by the middle of next month for the second doses of the same vaccines.

The capital city recorded 101 new COVID-19 cases, 32 recoveries, and two deaths as of Saturday.

Since the pandemic broke out last year, it has registered a total of 9,824 cases, of which 7,685 have recovered, 266 have died, and 1,873 are still active.
