VINTAGE BOMB FOUND IN TALISAY

A VINTAGE bomb was found in barangay Tangke, Talisay City, southern Cebu.

Police said the vintage bomb was found by a laborer who was digging a hole for the construction of a concrete fence.

The excavation was already a feet deep when the bomb was found.

Tangke barangay councilor Leo Cabalan informed the police of the discovery.

PO2 Jason Del Campo of the Talisay City police said the vintage bomb has an estimated length of one feet and its size is thicker than a one liter of a softdrinks bottle.

The vintage bomb was turned over to the Cebu Provincial Police Office (CPPO) bomb squad.

Last Jan. 23, construction workers of a private firm found more than 20 vintage bombs in Kawit Island, South Road Properties (SRP).

TRANPORT FIRM BURGLARIZED

UNIDENTIFIED thieves ransacked a transport company in barangay Paknaan, Mandaue City .

Police said P32,000 cash that was kept in a mini-vault was stolen from Se A hook Transport.

Branch manager Noel Ebiuanga told police he discovered the burglary when he reported for work yesterday.

Ebiuanga said the mini-vault was forcibly opened.

Police said workers will be invited for questioning after it was found out that there no signs of the forced entry in the building./CORRESPONDENT NORMAN V. MENDOZA

PUJ PASSENGER NABBED FOR DRUGS

A JEEPNEY passenger was arrested after police found him carrying two packs of suspected shabu in a checkpoint in barangay Subangdaku, Mandaue City.

Police said aside from the suspected drugs, a kitchen knife was also recovered from Melvin Maningco.

Police said Maningco was one of the male passengers who were asked to disembark from a Mandaue-bound jeepney for an inspection last Saturday night.

Maningco was seen acting suspiciously that prompted the police to frisk him, said POI Michael Ebrado of the Subangdaku police.
