LUCENA CITY – Two drug suspects were arrested in Sariaya and Tiaong towns in Quezon province on Saturday night, police said Sunday.
Police Colonel Joel Villanueva, Quezon police chief, said anti-narcotics agents collared Elmer Carandang, 48, after he sold shabu (crystal meth) to an undercover police officer in Barangay (village) San Francisco in Tiaong around 11:20 p.m.
Seized from him were three plastic sachets of shabu worth P28,152 in the street market and shabu sniffing paraphernalia.
Anti-illegal drugs operatives also busted Christian Alvarez, 36, in another sting operation in Barangay Pili in Sariaya around 9:45 p.m.
The suspect yielded 14 sachets of meth with a street value of P27,776.
The suspects were detained at the local police jails and are facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
