MANILA, Philippines — A low-pressure area (LPA) is expected to bring rain over the entire Bicol Region and the Visayas, as well as parts of Mindanao, the state weather bureau said Saturday.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the LPA was located 240 km east of Guiuan, Eastern Samar.

“A low-pressure area was estimated based on all available data at 240 km East of Guiuan, Eastern Samar embedded in the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ),” Pagasa said on its website.

According to Pagasa, the LPA will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms to the Bicol Region, the Visayas, as well as over Caraga and Northern Mindanao.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country are expected to have fair weather conditions with partly cloudy to cloudy skies, although there are still chances of rain showers due to isolated thunderstorms.

There are no gale warnings raised in any of the seaboards nationwide, with the rest of the country expecting slight to moderate sea conditions with waves of from 0.6 to 2.5 meters.
