The country is set to receive its first batch of a million doses of the single-shot Sputnik V Light this month, National Task Force Against COVID-19 chief implementer Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. said. Galvez, who is also vaccine czar, said on Friday that the remaining 190,000 doses of Component 2 of the original two-dose Sputnik V will be delivered on Saturday. “This shipment of Sputnik V vaccines shall be used for the second dose. After this, we will be receiving the single-shot Sputnik V Light as we move forward with our vaccine rollout,” he added. Another 1 million doses of Sputnik V Light is set to arrive in October. The country has so far received a total of 285,000 doses of Component 1, and 95,000 Component 2 doses of Sputnik V. —Dexter V. Cabalza
