Zamboanga City fugitive killed in Sulu arrest operation
ZAMBOANGA CITY, Zamboanga del Sur—A man wanted here for robbery with homicide was killed by law enforcers when he allegedly resisted arrest in Sulu.
Colonel Rexmel Reyes, Zamboanga City police director, said Aldasir Makumbong, also known as Alsimar Mangumah, 37, was being arrested at 2 a.m. on Friday in his home in Barangay Niog-Niog, Luuk town, on the force of a warrant issued by a regional trial court here.
Reyes said Makumbong put up a fight which resulted in an armed confrontation that left the suspect wounded. Makumbong was rushed to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead, Reyes added.
Reyes further said that a firearm, ammunition and some dried cannabis leaves were found in Makumbong’s house.
Makumbong was tagged as the principal suspect in the robbery and death in 2019 of a businesswoman in San Jose village here, carting away several jewelry and P8 million cash.

Reyes said the policemen involved in the arrest operation wore body cameras.
