OLONGAPO CITY — The number of active COVID-19 cases among the policemen in Central Luzon rose to 203 with the addition of 16 new infections, data from the Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) showed on Friday, Sept. 17

Based on the record of the PRO3’s health service, the new COVID-19 cases raised to 2,562 the total number of infected personnel of the Philippine National Police in the region since last year.

These virus-infected patients, who mostly contracted the virus while on duty, include non-uniformed personnel.

At least 2,353 of these COVID-19 cases of the PRO3 were already cleared of the viral disease, reflecting a 91.8-percent recovery rate.

PRO3’s COVID-19 death rate was still low at 0.2 percent since it only recorded six deaths since the pandemic struck last year.
