PLARIDEL, Bulacan––A Cessna plane crashed in a vacant grassy area in this town a few minutes after it took off Friday, Sept. 17, from the town’s airstrip.

Col. Jesus Manalo, Plaridel police chief, said pilot Paul Lemuel Gayones, 26, and his student pilot Leibon Ace Sandoval, 26, suffered minor wounds.

They were taken to the nearest hospital for treatment.

The plane crashed at a vacant lot in Barangay Agnaya less than 10 minutes after taking off from the Plaridel airstrip in Barangay Bagong Bayan at 7:40 a.m.

Manalo said the aircraft suddenly hit an acacia tree while flying at a low altitude.
