KTEC blanks San Roque FC, bags 2nd men’s open crown
Newly organized team KTEC Trading secured its second consecutive men’s open title after blanking San Roque Nawano FC, 2-0, via penalty shootout in the 9th Thirsty Football Cup yesterday at the University of San Carlos-Technological Center (USC-TC) field.
The team bagged its first men’s open title in last month’s 2nd Sinulog Football Cup.
Team owner Ktec Alazas said he used the same lineup for the Thirsty tournament.
During the regulation match, KTEC Trading had many chances to score but was unable to convert them to goals.
San Roque likewise had attempts but saw them deflected by KTEC Trading goalkeeper Henderson Jay Campo, who was eventually named most valuable player of the category.
Campo was also instrumental during the finals penalty shootout by deflecting San Roque’s attempt to score.

The team may be newly formed but it is composed mostly of veteran players and former members of the Philippine national team such as Alazas and John Michael Flores, who is also playing for the Cebu Queen City United (CQCU) FC in the ongoing United Football League Second Division Tournament.
