ANGELES CITY––One of three persons targeted to be vaccinated in Angeles have been fully jabbed against COVID-19, data from the city government showed Wednesday, Sept. 15.

The 113,053 fully vaccinated include 8,105 health workers, 26,928 elderly, 32,002 persons with comorbidities, 31,850 essential frontline personnel, and 14,168 poor residents. They comprise 34.9 percent of the target to be vaccinated.

Some 161,194 city residents have received one dose of Sinovac, AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Moderna, or Sinopharm vaccines. The number comprises 49.7 percent of the target 324,000, which is 70 percent of about 463,000 city people.

On Wednesday, this city registered 96 new COVID-19 cases, 39 recoveries, and three deaths. The fatalities were from Capaya, Cutuc, and Sapalibutad villages.

Those who recovered from COVID-19 include Mayor Carmelo Lazatin, who tested positive for COVID-19 on Sept. 1.

The city has recorded 10,843 cases since the pandemic began in March last year. Of these, 8,950 have recovered, 445 have died, and are 1,448 active.
