12 held for illegal gambling, protocol breach in Gapan City

GAPAN CITY, Nueva Ecija — Police here have arrested 12 people for alleged illegal gambling and violation of quarantine protocols.

Lt. Col. Alexie Desamito, city police chief, said the suspects, some of whom are drivers, were caught playing board and card games in Barangay Maburak here around 5 p.m. on Tuesday, September 14.

Police seized from. the suspects a set of mahjong tiles, domino, bingo cards, and bet money worth P3,100.

The suspects were charged with violation of Presidential Decree 1602 (illegal gambling) at the city prosecutor’s office on top of health protocol charges.
