7 Olongapo cops test positive for COVID-19

OLONGAPO CITY—At least seven Philippine National Police personnel in this city have tested positive for COVID-19, authorities said Tuesday, Sept. 14.

The patients include police and non-uniformed personnel of stations 5 and 6. Most of them contracted the virus while on duty.

The health service of Police Regional Office 3 (PRO3) said the seven were among the 189 active COVID-19 patients from its Central Luzon workforce.

Since last year, at least 2,518 PRO3 personnel have contracted COVID-19, although 2,323 of them have been cleared of the viral disease. These reflect a 92-percent recovery rate.

The COVID-19 death toll among PRO3 personnel stood at six, with no new fatalities in recent days.
