Metro Manila curfew hours set from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. starting Sept. 16
MANILA, Philippines — The curfew hours in Metro Manila will be from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. starting September 16 when the region is placed under Alert Level 4 for the pilot implementation of granular lockdowns, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said Tuesday.
“Ang Metro Manila mayors ay nag-meeting. Nagkaroon po kami ng survey kung pati na rin ang tinatawag na curfew hours ay babaguhin natin dahil ang curfew ngayon ay a las otso ng gabi,” MMDA chairman Benhur Abalos said in an online Palace briefing.
(The Metro Manila mayors had a meeting. We had a survey to see if we will change the curfew hours that is currently set at 8 p.m.)
“Nagbotohan kami, ilalabas namin ang resolution na ang implementasyon na ito ay isasabay sa pilot. Magiging 10 o’clock na po ng gabi hanggang a las kwatro ng umaga,” he added.
(We voted among ourselves and we will release a resolution where its implementation will start with the pilot of granular lockdowns. It will be from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.)
From September 16 to September 30, Metro Manila will be under Alert Level 4.
Under Alert Level 4, persons aged below 18 and above 65, those with health risks, including pregnant women must stay at home unless they need to access essential goods and services, and for work.
Individual outdoor exercises are allowed in areas under Alert Level 4 for all ages regardless of comorbidities or vaccination status, but they must remain within the area of their residence.
While the region is under Alert Level 4, local government units will also impose granular lockdowns to restrict movement in small areas where there is high COVID-19 transmission.
