MABALACAT CITY – The province of Pampanga registered 321 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, Sept. 12, bringing its active cases to 5,667.
Its latest bulletin also showed 26 new deaths due to coronavirus disease complications. The fatalities include residents of Lubao (5), City of San Fernando (4), Mexico (3), Magalang (2), Arayat (2), and Porac (2), Mabalacat City (1), Bacolor (1), Apalit (1), Macabebe (1), Masantol (1), San Luis (1), Sta. Ana (1), and Sto. Tomas (1).
On Saturday, Sept. 11, Pampanga recorded 439 new cases and 26 deaths.
The province has recorded a total of 37,445 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began last year. Of these, 29,881 have recovered while 1,897 have died.
City of San Fernando has the most active cases as of Sunday at 1,822, followed by Guagua town with 604, and Mabalacat City with 535.
Since last week, Pampanga’s active COVID-19 cases remained above the 5,000-mark.
The provincial government, which has been enforcing strict border controls, has been asking residents to comply with minimum health protocols like proper wearing of face masks and face shields and observance of physical distancing. INQ
