Olongapo City’s COVID-19 death toll climbs to 220

Three more elderly residents here have succumbed to COVID-19, raising to 220 the city's death toll, according to the local task force.

OLONGAPO CITY–Three more elderly residents here have succumbed to COVID-19, raising to 220 the city’s death toll, according to the local task force.

The three fatalities were all senior citizens aged 62-86 who also suffered from other comorbidities.

At least 40 new infections were also added to the city’s data on the same day, pushing to 782 its active COVID-19 cases.

So far, the city has logged 4,524 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic struck last year.

At least 3,522 of them were already cleared of the viral disease, including the 61 recoveries on Monday. The city’s recovery rate was at 77.8 percent.
