MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga – The province of Aurora registered 56 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, Sept. 12, its highest daily infection in three months, data from the provincial emergency operations center showed.
At least 18 recoveries were also registered on the same day, bringing its active cases to 214, while four new COVID-19 deaths were added to its tally.
Two of the fatalities were residents of the capital town of Baler while the two others were from San Luis town.
The province has recorded a total of 2,422 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began last year. Of these, 2,103 have recovered while 105 have died.
Maria Aurora town has the most active cases (58), followed by Baler (51), and Dingalan town (30).
Of the province’s eight towns, only Dilasag has zero active COVID-19 cases as of Sunday. INQ
