BACOLOD CITY – The Senior Citizens Affairs Office in Talisay City, Negros Occidental was temporarily closed starting Monday, September 13, after one employee tested positive for COVID-19.
Mayor Neil Lizares said all the staff members in the office will be swabbed to determine whether or not they were infected with the virus.
“The temporary closure will be until further notice to give way to thorough disinfection of the office and contact tracing,” he said.
Talisay City currently has 129 active COVID-19 cases as of Sunday.
The city has 1,740 COVID-19 cases since the start of the pandemic last year with 1,556 recoveries and 55 deaths.
