CEBU CITY – Work in one of the buildings of the Cebu provincial government was disrupted after one of its employees received a bomb threat call shortly before noontime on Monday, September 13.

K-9 units and several other special police teams were dispatched to help inspect the building.

The legislative building inside the Capitol compound houses the Office of the Vice Governor, Offices of the 17 provincial board members, the provincial offices of the Commission on Elections, the Department of Interior and Local Government, Commission on Audit, and the Department of Agrarian Reform.

Although workers got back to work, Cebu Vice Gov. Hilario “Junjun” Davide III canceled the Provincial Board session scheduled for 2 p.m. on Monday.

Davide’s staff received a call from a female warning him that a bomb was about to explode in 20 minutes.

Police Executive Master Sgt. Joel Taboada said they cannot say the building is clear from the bomb explosion but said they did not find any explosives after a thorough inspection.

The authorities are still investigating who the lady anonymous caller was.
