SAN ANTONIO, Zambales––At least 168 new COVID-19 cases were registered over the weekend in this province, the provincial health office said.
The new infections pushed to 1,036 the province’s active cases as of Sunday, Sept. 12.
Despite the two-day virus surge, the province maintained its 87.6-percent recovery rate after 127 new patients were cleared of the virus.
The province’s death toll still stood at 237 as no new fatalities were added for the last two days.
Since the pandemic broke out last year, the province reported 7,165 confirmed cases, of which 6,192 recovered from the disease.
At least 60,100 residents in the province have been fully vaccinated against the disease.
