/ 08:53 PM February 19, 2012

TANUAN CITY—The continuous barking of his dog alerted a former village councilor to a dead man with three bullet wounds at the back, along the South Luzon Arterial Road in Tanauan City on Thursday.

City police chief Supt. Manuel Manalo said Jorlan Hidalgo found the body at around 1:10 a.m. while he and his dog were walking along a dark portion of the highway at Barangay (village) Banjo East.

Police Officer 1 Rowell Maala, officer on case, said none of the residents had heard any gunshot prior to the sighting of the body. He said the unidentified man was sporting a military haircut, half-naked with checkered shorts and black slippers when found.—Jerome C. Balinton
