2 'rebels' in Zambales yield to gov't

OLONGAPO CITY—Two alleged rebels belonging to a communist terrorist group operating in the provinces of Tarlac and Zambales have voluntarily surrendered to authorities, police said Friday, Sept. 10.

Col. Jeric Villanueva, acting director of the Olongapo police office, identified the two as certain “Ka Jojo,” 44, and “Ka Jade,” 35.

Both were reportedly members of the Kilusang Larangan Gerilya Tarlac-Zambales and reside in San Felipe town, Zambales.

In a statement, Brig. Gen. Valeriano de Leon, director of the Police Regional Office 3, said they were closely coordinating with the Regional Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict to encourage more rebels to surrender to the government.
