Aquino turns wistful on Quezon’s ‘luck’

BALER, Aurora – Is President Benigno Aquino III thinking of marriage?

Aquino drew cheers on Sunday here at the capitol grounds when he turned sentimental and romantic as he spoke about the life of Dona Aurora Aragon-Quezon, whose 124th birth anniversary celebration was being commemorated by the President and the province.

Aquino said the late President Manuel Quezon was “lucky” to have as his wife, Dona Aurora, whom he noted, had helped her husband during his term as the nation’s leader during World War II.

“Hindi ko maiwasang tuloy isipin na iba talaga kapag may inspirasyon ka,” President Aquino said, drawing cheers and applause from the audience that included Senator Edgardo Angara, Aurora Governor Bellaflor Castillo and Representative Juan Edgardo Angara.

The 52-year-old bachelor President had been very open about his romance with TV and radio personality Grace Lee.
