MABALACAT CITY, Pampanga––Capas town in Tarlac province will be on lockdown on Friday, Sept. 10, the feast of its patron saint, San Nicolas de Tolentino.

Mayor Reynaldo Catacutan issued an executive order limiting people’s activities on the town’s fiesta day to guard against the further spread of COVID-19.

In the past, Capas residents and those from nearby towns in Tarlac and Pampanga would attend masses at the San Nicolas de Tolentino parish church during the town’s fiesta and celebrate the occasion by buying food from the public market.

He said the number of COVID-19 cases in Capas has drastically increased, causing heightened restrictions to address the increasing number of infections and protect the general public.
